When I first set foot on the soil of the United Arab Emirates in the early 1970s, the landscape was vastly different from the vibrant, modern nation we see today. Instead of the bustling cityscapes and world-class infrastructure, there was mostly the wilderness of the desert and a handful of small shops. Yet, even in those early days, there was an unmistakable pulse of ambition and progress.
Stepping into the electrical equipment sector during that era allowed me to witness firsthand the first sparks of modernity in the region’s construction industry. In those times, transportation and infrastructure were minimal, and success relied almost entirely on two unshakeable pillars: unwavering hard work and deep mutual trust.
